| What fantastic insights into the creation of this masterpiece. Thanks for posting. So many surprises, e.g. that they tried the prologue as a sung sequence rather than one purely danced, and that Laurents wanted an aria for Maria at the end and Bernstein made numerous attempts but couldn't come up with one. |
