Even Babra Streisand did not use
Ralph Burns orchestration for her 'single' of "People". Ray Ellis did that arrangement. Has there ever been another hit single , of a bway song, that used the original orchestrations.(the song was in my mind after watching the post of Sally Ann Howes sing said song.)

Collins did not use the exact show arrangement . Tunick made some changes for her version - including changing the opening solo line from a clarinet to an English horn.

Merry Christmas to you as well!

If you can find the published script to "A Little Night Music," Tunick has a wonderful essay included, about his approach to the show among other things, and he mentions the Collins version of "Clowns."
