| With the exception of LEHMAN TRILOGY, none of the new plays so far have sold tickets at a sustainable level - sad but true. Of the returning shows, MOCKINGBIRD is selling - though lots of orchestra empty seats because they are charging $399 a ticket. But the new plays? It's been really rough. Looking in my crystal ball, I see only a few non musicals that are likely to sell well - PLAZA SUITE, FOR COLORED GIRLS, and, of course, Daniel Craig in MACBETH. Other than that, its going be to be a tough year for plays. |
