| I support understudies. What I do NOT support is a petition that demands someone be 'cancelled'—it literally has 'DISMISSED' stamped across her face—for failing to protect against a variant that (1) no one had even heard of until a month ago, and (2) is decimating every industry (as this weekend's epidemic of flight cancellations makes obvious). |

| Again, dismissing and canceling are not the same thing. Look up both words on thesaurus.com and you will see that not only are they not synonyms, they don’t share any words in common at their highest level, and they don’t share too many words at a secondary level. They’re not the same thing. |

| Huh? I looked up canceling on the thesaurus.com and one of the synonyms for cancel is remove. Isn't that what people are tryin to do? Removing her from her position? | |

| At least a portion of the petition specifically references failing to protect against omicron. If that's not the grievance, then it should not be in the petition. | |

| well if that's in there, then I agree it shouldn't be and that's stupid. This is supposed to be about the understudies, which in turn are a part of the overall grievance of cluelessness. Let's face it. The petition is going nowhere, but a degradation of the League's bargaining position has the attention of the people who can make something happen. And I expect that we will see that in short order. | |
