| I had forgotten Evans was in the Houston production of FOLLIES. I saw that and remember just being floored by Marilyn Maye, who at that time I was unfamiliar with. I saw Evans in my very first professional show. He played George Gibbs in OUR TOWN, alongside Henry Fonda, Jim Backus, Mildred Natwick, Martha Scott and Elizabeth Hartman (as Emily). Exquisite memories from that production and a perfect introduction to the magic of theater. |
