| I have always said - I have nothing against the song itself, which I think is quite effective. My problem has always been the placement of the song. Obviously dramatically speaking it's in the only place it can go (the song itself really relates best to the Kennedy assassination in terms of "I remember where I was when I heard the news" - even if that is becoming more remote as time goes on) - but I miss the seamless transition between the Depository Scene and the start of the finale, as recorded/performed originally. But, Sondheim really wanted the song there... |
