It is up to Ambler Entertainment.
I am remembering an interview with Doug Wright. He adapted his play Quills to the screen and when adapting added some material that he wanted to include in future stage productions. He was going to put out a revised version of the stage script.
Then he found out that he could not legally use anything he had written for the film. It would have been plagiarism because he did not own the screenplay.
Even if everyone else signs off on it, in film a script is work for hire and the producer owns the copyright. |
