See my post above. You would be surprised how many directors are out there (especially young directors who don't really know the legacies of any given piece) who only know a show by its film or cast recording, etc, and want to change everything to make it be only as they are familiar with it.
I had a Prague recording of WSS , which followed the movie order for the songs; Somewhere solely as a duet, I feel Pretty in Act One and no recording of a Dream Ballet((Or maybe it was a Danish recording-I cant chzeck as I no longer have either CD,
