Seating problems, hard curtain at Cursed Child ruined a friend's experience.

Though I have never seen any show start thus this past fall (8 visits), a friend reported a nightmare situation at the Cursed Child yesterday. We've heard that this production is rigid about getting the crew out on time. But imagine making that a priority over seating the audience. His report copied:

"Big Broadway theater screwup tonight. The Christmas present tickets to Harry Potter on Broadway turned into a nightmare tonight due to mismanagement .

Arriving at the theater 50 minutes before curtain to find a line wrapped around the block, (yep, COVID, I get it). BUT with dozens of people in the lobby some genius decides to NOT hold the curtain. We're told to watch the beginning of the show on a monitor until we are seated.
We stagger into the dark theater, (with the show in progress), and are shown to our row. The usher disappears so there's someone in our seats of course. we find two empty seats and sit down.
In the mean time others are also staggering into their seats (a continuous parade of "late-comers", in the dark. Guess what? The people who have our seats arrive; no ushers. A complete mess.
We left, evening ruined.
Never had a worse experience on Broadway. Terrible management, and those poor actors."

Is this about the hard start time? It's tragic.
