| My friends said the lobby was literally packed with the unseated. What's startling: this show has been cancelled. The production knows of the strain and stress to accommodate. It's a hit. They have money. To penalize people who arrive as early as 50 minutes -- that's close to the hour requested -- is appalling. I've experience wonderful protocols at every theater. The gold standard was my return to Hamilton in early October, when our vax status and attendant issues were checked by a circulating team that greeted people joining the line. But even shows that check at point of entry -- Girl From North Country, Trouble in Mind, Dana H -- were efficient and got everyone seated. One show started about 15 minutes rather than 10 minutes after announced curtain. But at Cursed Child -- hard, expensive ticket and long show -- I believe it's inexcusable to be so rigid. Especially this holiday season. |
