CLYDE’S Tonight

What a nothing of a play.

Solid understudy performances can’t change the broad direction and boring design. Lynn Nottage is content writing network sitcoms about sandwiches now? How disappointing.

Literally a snoozefest. Although it did make me hungry for a sandwich.

What understudies did you see? I saw the understudy for Uzo Aduba and she indeedis a solid actress who nonetheless did not have the power to move this play forward as Aduba does. This is definitely not a sitcom but it is an allegory and therefore likely not to everyone's taste. I am sorry you did not enjoy it.

Did you see live or by streaming?

I’m wondering how good the streaming is.

My take on the Clyde's "simulcast" re: Did you see live or by streaming?

I was thrilled to be witnessing the first-ever live "simulcast" of a Broadway play, the latest step in an evolving phenomenon that is as old as the history of film, and as new as the latest Internet start-up, the interplay between stage and screen.
That said, there was an early glitch with the transmission that had the theater inviting the viewers to return for another performance, and, even putting that aside, the experience from moment to moment of watching this play on my computer screen at home had its pluses and minuses.

Saw it live. From the mezz, I couldn’t spot a single camera so very curious as to how it looks online as well.

For yesterday’s performance. I was going to wait a few days to make sure they got it filmed right.
