| It's not perfect, and whether one thinks it "works" as a musical or not is not my concern... but it is full of interesting elements, excellent performances and songs and scenes and ideas, and it is unlike any show I've seen on Broadway. And the physical production was absolutely singular and it's extremely unlikely, given its reception as a piece, that it'll ever be produced for this budget again. But if I ever get to see it again I can't wait to see what visuals a director with a lesser budget invents for it. |
