You are right about that vibe....yes, Covid has taken it's toll but the programming at The National the past few seasons has been abysmal and with some of the worst reviewed shows in town....MANOR was a disaster and now this, in the same season while trying bring audiences back during a pandemic. Even a play like NORMAL HEART came across as a cold dud with no emotional weight to it whatsoever (just my opinion).
