He's so good in everything he does (and I didn't see most of his legendary stage work).

(And "I Remember It Well" duet with Judy Parfitt.)

I remember on my first trip to New York, I went to see August: Osage County. I was THRILLED when the play started and there was John Cullum. Of course I wasn't familiar with the play at that time and therefore didn't realise how brief the performance would be, lol. I'm still so glad I got to see him though

I saw Cullum in Urinetown and 100 in the Shade on Broadway and then years later in The Scottsboro Boys off-Broadway.

I got to chat with him in the lobby of the Vineyard after a performance of Scottsboro. Most of the stage door fans were gathered around Brandon Victor Dixon and other cast members. I don't think anyone else but I knew who Cullum was. I told him I was a fan of his work dating back to Camelot and On a Clear Day. He couldn't believe I was that old. He talked with me for a good 20 minutes and signed my Playbill. A really nice guy. He joked that what he was being paid for appearing off-Broadway wouldn't even cover cab fare. He was confident Scottsboro would move to Broadway.

I hate to ask but what is ER?

Never mind -- I forgot that Cullum played Dr. Mark Greene's father on the TV Drama Series ER (nmi)

I'm not trying to be "that guy" - though we all know sometimes I am, lol - it's actually Maria, but pronounced as if the H were there. (Just like the character in Twelfth Night.)

It was fun when he was a regular cast member on "Northern Exposure" when the town's radio DJ (I think it was John Corbett) would play songs from musicals, featuring occasionally the beautiful voice of Cullum from one of his shows' OCRs. He was wonderful in "On the 20th Century", and I also saw him in the revival of "Shenandoah", also marvelous, as well as his fun turn in "Urinetown", especially memorable performing "Don't Be The Bunny".
