HBO Max has a terrific documentary on the life and death of Adrienne Shelly the writer, director, actress of the film "Waitress" the basis of the Broadway musical. Directed by her husband the film includes interviews with Diane Paulus, Sara Bareilles and Producer Barry Weissler.
An excellent documentary. Often uncomfortable and frequently moving. In addition to Waitress, Shelly was a frequent performer in the Off-Off Broadway scene of the 1990s. Her last stage appearance as an actor, I believe, was a play with The New Group called Paradise Island in 2001.
