That's a fair point, but her biography is only one way to approach it. People should know Merman's most famous roles are Rose and Annie, and thinking Annie could lead to the show named Annie and the hunch - if you didn't already know - that SJP might have appeared in it. I imagine that's the way the writers expected it to work for most players.
I happen to have seen SJP back in 79 or 80, so that helped, but I'm pretty sure I would have got it anyway...:) |
