| I think, and I'm just guessing, for people born after 1960 (aka too young to have been aware of the JFK assassination, or not alive at all yet) and before 1993 or so ... 9/11 is still THE event where reality broke more than it had before. Jan 6 doesn't seem to have nearly the same impact, but it's only been a year since it happened. But I think the "where were you when this happened" would definitely be more relevant for 9-11 than Jan 6. Maybe that's just me and my bubble. | |

| I was lucky to see Senator Robert Kennedy at a rally in Philadelphia before being sent to Vietnam by the Army. Kennedy was assinated in California about a month later. As awful as it was, at the time it is difficult to to have any perspective. At least when President Kennedy was assinated, there was a vice president. |

| Throughout the show, an image of each assassin's target is shown on a screen upstage. At the end of the show, two ensemble members walk to the front of the stage, look up at the screen, and there is an image from Jan 6 there. The target may not be an individual person, but the entire concept of Government, but the implication is that this was the next in the same thread of actions. It may be a little ham-fisted (one wonders how this production was originally meant to end, if it had run in a non-Covid 2020 as intended) but the motivations mentioned by the assassins definitely fit for the terrorists of Jan 6 ("Where's my prize, they promised me a prize" etc). | |
