Omicron is very easy to catch when everyone you are with (who you don't live with) isn't wearing a K9N5 or better mask. It's not shocking at all that people don't want to be sitting next to someone in a cloth mask or surgical one for 3 hours.

Here in LA County, we averaged 39,000 new cases and 40 deaths per day over the last week. Hospitalization rates have skyrocketed. I have read things are leveling out more in NYC, but we aren’t anywhere near that. We’re extra cautious here, with our Phoebe back on immunosuppressants, but anybody here with any sense at all should be curtailing all unnecessary contacts.

That’s the main factor driving sales down, but think even without the pandemic that HAMILTON numbers would be weak. It’s been here twice before on long runs.

Of 8 week run that is sold out, hard to get tickets, doesn’t equate to a long run on the return. This has happened numerous times in San Fran with Hamilton, billy Elliott and wicked where the returning show is hot for a few months and then tapers off. Hamilton had already closed the balcony in fall 2019 after about 6 months and I got center orch for Jan 2020 for $110 (rear orch was $75). Harry Potter had just started an open run in nov 2019 and was already dynamic pricing by February before covid hit. Long gone are the days when sit down production like les mis and phantom run for years.

I confess to not paying attention to exactly how long the runs were. It just seemed like I saw HAMILTON ads for a very, very long time.

Laura, feeling kind of chuffed because she got two pieces of Real Fan Mail this week 🥰

I just watched My Salinger Year where the publicists shredded the fan mail without showing them to Salinger.

I -am- my publicist! And Chief Cook and Bottle Washer, too.

Though my better half is keeping a steady series of plugs for my book over on his Twitter page.

Anyway, they’re digital, so maybe “delete” is more applicable than “shred.”
