It's certainly been done. I've seen a few productions cast that way.
About a year ago, there was a concept album with Shoshana Bean as Judas. In fact, that album was an all-female cast.
Interestingly, this tweet says "1st Female Judas On Broadway EVER", which isn't accurate, of course. This is a tour. (The tour where their original Judas was arrested for entering the Capitol on Jan 6!) |
