| George III's more serious bout with porphyria was in 1788 when he would have been 50. I believe this is the period depicted in Bennett's play. As you say, Nigel Hawthorne was 62 when the play debuted in 1991 and 64 when the film was made. (I don't think he looked any older than he was.) |
