Bway is now geared towards getting money from older wealthy white people, particularly tourists, and their kids. Like with opera, producers don't want to put into the energy to build an audience through a generation of exposure. Best of luck to Billy Crystal and the creators but few people under 50 know or even care who Crystal is. Maybe it'll get great reviews and tickets sales take off. Who knows--but production desperately needs the stars to align at those prices.
