I'm sure he's not suggesting it for all shows. And I'm not sure what the benefit to this show would be, apart from the little bit of free publicity. Someone else in this thread suggested that maybe they wanted a few more days to fix things without changing the opening night. That may be.
I'm sure, though, that they're not going to miss the money--especially if the critics take seats that were otherwise going to be given away anyway.
