For me, a well-written review spends the majority of its time on the specifics of the production at hand. Especially for a revival of a very well-known show. Maybe one paragraph about the show's history, plot, etc - and even then, it's always great if those points are made to reflect particular comments to be made later about the production.
So ultimately I'm not sure what kind of time anyone would be saving. That is, if they want their review to be properly informative about THE SPECIFIC PRODUCTION. |
