I should also add that, for someone like me, a New Zealand accent and an Australian accent sound similar. If Settle spent several months in her childhood visiting her relatives in New Zealand and England, surrounded by speakers of those accents at an age where being "bilingual" is easy to pick up, I could see her switching back and forth easily among American, English, and New Zealand accents.

If you learn several languages at a very early age, you can easily compartmentalize them in your head. If she went on Spanish TV and spoke in Spanish because one of her parents was a native speaker and she became fluent at a young age, that wouldn't seem peculiar. I don't know if this situation is that much different, except that she may not be "choosing" to speak with an English accent as deliberately. But she's speaking with an English accent when she's surrounded by other people doing so, much as she might have done when she was a small child visiting her relatives.
