My husband automatically changed accent and inflection when with his mom and her siblings, who all spoke Yiddish as a first language. He didn’t learn it growing up (his parents only spoke it when they didn’t want him to know what they were saying), but the accent and vocabulary he did learn instantly appeared in their company.
