I have done this here probably hundreds of times over the years. As others have said, if you have something short to say, sometimes it makes sense to put the text in the header, and then so people don't waste their time clicking to see what more there is, you put nm at the end of the header. What is so strange? Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to me that you've been posting here for some time. If so, you must have seen this plenty. If not, forgive me for misremembering.
For an imaginary example, if someone were to ask how long Zero Mostel was in the original production of Fiddler on the Roof, I might reply with ”11 months (nm)” in the header and then just put nm in the message since you have to put something in there in order for it to post. This makes it easier for people who are reading. Actually, I would probably write something like ”11 months on Broadway, following 2 months pre-Broadway (nm)” because that's the sort of thing I do.
If someone is asking for songs about the spring, and you just have one title to add to titles that have already been posted, it makes sense to put the title (and possibly the writers and/or the show it is from) in the header, followed by nm. Again, this speeds things along for the folks reading. You're doing them a favor. |
