I'm in my 30s, and I've known about the Company Cast Recording documentary since I was in my teens. And I've seen it 3 times. Anyone making a list of theater related documentaries should be embarrassed to not know this documentary, especially with the recent jolts of relevance -- a now-famous and beloved episode of Documentary Now doing it complete with several original songs written by and performed in the episode by very famous people ... and a very notable (despite being terrible) Company revival in London and now Broadway ... and the passing of Sondheim.
Even if this were made by someone in their 20s I'd say the same thing. |
