At the Durfee Theater, Fall River, MA (beautiful gem that was torn down) in the 60s. My parents took my sibs and I and my Grandfather who immigrated from Russia in the early 1900s from Odessa, Russia. After the show, my parents asked what he thought. He said "they made it look too good."
I watched the documentary on the making of Fiddler 2 years ago and there is a picture of a newspaper headline that says "Massacre in Odessa kills 5000". And then I learned why my Grandfather would never talk about his early life in Russia.
But from then on, my parents always took us to summer stock in Cape Cod (Melody Tent) and Wariick Musical Theater in RI! |
