My first professional show was the Los Angeles production of The Phantom of the Opera when I was in Junior High. I had been obsessed with the cast recording from the moment I heard it. But the visuals just blew me away. It was then that I realized I wanted to direct and produce.
I planned to move to NYC with my best friend right after high school to pursue my broadway dreams and I remember every moment of my first show. We paid for standing room to see BIG: The Musical at the Shubert. I remember how kindness of one of the ushers who found my friend and I a seat for Act 2. Was the show great? Nope. But, boy oh boy was it magical. It was exactly what I imagined a "Broadway show" would be. |
