The first piece of theatre I ever saw was a local production of OUR TOWN when I was 12. I still remember it like it was yesterday. How could I believe there were walls, and windows and gravestones when all that I could see were a couple of ladders and some chairs. I was hooked.
The first professional production I saw was in high school. My long-suffering parents drove me top see the 1st National Tour of MISS SAIGON when it opened in Chicago (a 5 hour drive 1 way)
First Broadway was HIGH SOCIETY...I adored it (mostly because, at that age, I hadn't really had much exposure to Cole Porter and also THAT CAST!) |
