Howard Miller takes a look at MJ:

With tonight's opening of MJ at the Neil Simon Theatre, the much-maligned genre known as the jukebox musical has finally come of age. The show, centered on the preparations for pop superstar Michael Jackson's 1992 Dangerous World Tour, is, in a word, spectacular. And all it took, in addition to a top-notch popular songbook, was a two-time Pulitzer Prize winning playwright, a Tony-winning director and world-class choreographer, brilliant designers, and a phenomenally talented and boundlessly energetic cast of singers, dancers, and musicians. Who knew, right?
