| Saw it, loved it, loved him. I thought it was one of the most assured performances I'd ever seen in the theatre, and I was a bit sad that year, knowing there was no way the lead in a silly British comedy would ever be rewarded when up against that crowd of luminaries. I was so shocked when he won, but very pleased. I'd happily see what he did with any live-on-stage role (well, I doubt very much if I'd like him in "The Hairy Ape," but other than that.) |
