As I posted elsewhere, "too much dancing," an odd complaint, seems like an observation about how the production serves the storytelling. If the book was played with the right pacing, weighting the moments appropriately, who would notice? The thread on Jackman's take on Hill being presentational discussed this, with some arguing that Jackman continued to connect with fellow players as previews progressed. In fairness, the show had a helluva start, unable to build confidence by playing the full company 8 times a week. Any actor or director will tell you: you need runs --- performances -- to find out where the focus issues lie. I'm curious to hear reports from those who return six weeks later.
