The lyrics for Early to Bed were by George Marion, Jr., who also wrote the book. (You may be confusing it with Cabin in the Sky, which Latouche did write the lyrics for, and which Encores! presented several years ago.) Unfortunately, significant portions of Early to Bed are lost; John McWhorter wrote an article for the Times last September (linked below) about his continuing efforts to reconstruct the show.
