Nailed. It's journalistic imperative to get someone to go on the record about a production being gagged thus. And it was fairly delusional of the production's publicists to believe they could so completely control the narrative and show's image by simply omitting known information from the performed script. As I quoted in another MJ thread: You can't write a musical about John Wilkes Booth that ends in 1864 without someone noting what's missing.
