That's also a non-sequitur. If someone wrote a play about Wagner, and did not mention his anti-semitism, are you saying you would not think it appropriate to ask about editing it out of the story? That's what happened here.
Also, people keep invoking the absence of a conviction but, as I state elsewhere, no one here is sending anyone to jail, or even suing anyone civilly. Jackson's acknowledged behavior provides a basis for questioning the treatment of his story in this play.
I don't judge anyone for liking the show, by the way, nor do I think a dead person's behavior should be held against their estate. But the efforts to avoid an unpleasant topic is just gross. |
