| when k. branagh took his RENAISSANCE CO on tour in the late '80's and early 90 's emma thompson played Helena in MIDSUMMER NIGHTS DREAM but for LEAR, she played the Fool, getting uprorious laughs.I think some in the audience were not familiar with the play's ending,because when Lear said somthing like My Fool is dead, you could hear gasps from the audience(sorry for typos). |
