I fault that they changed the concert-style feel of the show for a more conventionally narrative move. Plus his looks (mot well made up), plus the story wasn’t dark enough in the movue. And the girl, who has the least attractive storyline, while a good naturalistic actres, wasn’t a rivetting persona. And the father and mother in Connor’s family were pretty out of touch.
