Danielle Brooks was excellent in the part on Broadway, and I'm sure she will be great in the film.
I know her stress about whether Oprah was there to tell her she got the part was a factor, but I think about what it must be like for someone like Oprah to have people react to her like that all day long. I'm sure Brooks has met her share of celebrities, and she's still tongue-tied. I loved her squeaked-out, "I'm fine, how are you"! |
