| I think it’s believable she never met Oprah. Maybe Oprah made a brief speech to the cast and one point but they didn’t talk one on one. As for auditioning, I had an audition for a Broadway show and next door they were holding an audition for the Broadway production of N2N. Alice Ripley was there auditioning for the role she had already played. I’m not making this up. Also- Remember the Little Shop revival? It had played out of the town and the marquis was already up at the theater. It featured a cartoon version of Hunter and Alice. Nonetheless they changed directors and everyone had to audition again. They went with Hunter and Kerry Butler and the marquis was replaced. I heard some people refused to re-audition. Maybe Alice and Billy were two of them. |
