I enjoyed it for the most part. Cecily Strong was amazing in her tour de force performance, though I didn't see Lily Tomlin so I can't compare. I admit I was not always riveted, there were times I lost focus. But she had me by the last part which I thought was particularly moving.
But I was rather surprised and disappointed that, considering it was the last performance, there was nothing special at the "curtain call". She didn't even come back for a second bow. She applauded the audience as we cheered her, she left, and that was it. |
