How interesting that you found it over amplified when just a week ago I thought this was one of the few shows I've seen recently that had the sound in balance so that I could actually understand the lyrics. It's always a bad sign when they crank up the volume in the mistaken idea that LOUD makes it more exciting. Alas, loud or LOUDER doesn't work fo me. I remember seeing Hairspray late in its run and they had the volume turned up to piercing.
Also interesting you say there were just three endings to this show. I counted five, so they must have cut a couple. I kept thinking that one number was the end and then yet another disjointed scene popped up with some other perspective -- none of which were satisfying. |
