| I also don't think Hamilton should have been eligible. Nor do I think Sunday in the Park or Into the Woods or Passion or NPH Company or Come From Away or any filmed stage production (unless it's just the concept of the film and is still a film, never meant as a play, like Dogville) should be eligible for film awards, no matter how good or bad it is. The production of it can be eligible for TV awards if it's put on tv (best special event, or whatever, best director ... but that would be for the director of the filming, not of the stage show -- or at least, both together). It doesn't matter to me what the producers submit it for, the awards should say no because these are no films and have no business competing with films. |

| ... the fact remains that so long as the "legit" awards shows consider them eligible, they are fair game for those awards the spoof them as well. | |

| Look at the other nominees. The Razzie's have become primarily a thing to punch-up at stars who need to be taken down a notch, who are popular to hate (for right or wrong reasons at the time), or good actors who have given notably bad performances or stars who chose terrible projects and did badly in them. Nominating a supporting actor from the filmed stage production of Diana against people like Mel Gibson, Ben Affleck, Nick Canon, and Jared Leto - and in the films they got their Razzie noms for -- is just ridiculous and inconsistent. There are certainly worse featured male performances in movies last year than those 4 famous people this year... the goal was picking on famous and successful actors making bad choices and giving hilariously subpar performances. Not actually nominating the worst of all films or filmed-things eligible. They nominated Diana to be funny. But i think for the people nominated it's cruel, especially since they didn't even give performances FOR film, they gave them for stage, and in a universally agreed upon mediocre-to-bad musical. But sure, technically, they're within their jurisdiction to nominate Diana. Good for them. |

| I mostly agree with you, but they did give these performances for film. It was filmed without an audience for the purpose of a Netflix release and they knew that the camera was there. If they didn't modulate their performances for the camera that's on them. | |
