I also don't think Hamilton should have been eligible. Nor do I think Sunday in the Park or Into the Woods or Passion or NPH Company or Come From Away or any filmed stage production (unless it's just the concept of the film and is still a film, never meant as a play, like Dogville) should be eligible for film awards, no matter how good or bad it is. The production of it can be eligible for TV awards if it's put on tv (best special event, or whatever, best director ... but that would be for the director of the filming, not of the stage show -- or at least, both together).

It doesn't matter to me what the producers submit it for, the awards should say no because these are no films and have no business competing with films.
