It doesn't relate to licensing of the Sorkin adaptation at all, just that the estate was in the wrong when it (at Rudin's urging) halted local productions of the previous adaptation.
Though given the previous adaptation's exclusive on non-first-class rights, I would think there'll have to be some discussion before the Sorkin can be licensed beyond Broadway and the associated tour.
