Any recommendations for a light dinner before seeing "Long Day's Journey --" at the Minetta Lane?

If you like Ethiopian, Meskerem has an affordable tasting platter that isn’t too heavy. It’s a very basic, charmless restaurant (some might go further and say dingy), but the food is excellent.

The Mermaid Oyster Bar is nearby, offering a number of seafood options.
Just a little further is The Little Owl, which is usually not too crowded if you are eating pre-theater (I’d still recommend a reservation.)

Mermaid Inn has killer Happy Hour with good Small Plates options (and creative cocktails)

Lobster Knuckle “Escargot Style” is a must try

Just finished a terrific between-shows happy hour here. Will return.
