Looking for hotels near the theatre district that you recommend.
What is the best month to go between March-May? Thank you.

The Tavistock Hotel, near The British Museum is a fine tourist hotel with great rates and a lovely breakfast (at least pre-pandemic). It is walk-able to all West End Theatres. I would recommend visiting in April.

I stayed at The Tavistock a few years ago and was pleasantly suprised. It was reasonable and faced a nice park.
Yes, walking was not that hard from there and a few buses were always going by at a frequent rate in all directions.

I lived in London for 17 years but go back a lot or did before Covid. I often use the Hub Hotels by Premier Inn. The Hub rooms are smaller but very clean and modern, ideal for one person for a longer stay or two people for three or four nights. My favorite ones are the Hub Soho right at the end of Old Compton Street. I also like the St Martins Lane Hub Covent Garden. Have also stayed at the Westminster Abbey and Goodge Street ones.

Right now you can get the Westminster Abbey for £569 for seven nights in the middle of March for example including all fees. I usually pay about £100 or so for a night at the Soho or Covent Garden locations. I like them because they will have a kitchen area downstairs with free tea and coffee all the time and have a nice newly decorated trendy clean feeling to the common areas too. Sometimes they have a hot breakfast buffet, for example at the Soho address should you not want to wander too far.

The St. Martin's Lane location is absurdly central for playgoing. The Duke of York's is literally next door, The Garrick, Coward, Wyndham's, Colisseum, Adelphi are minutes away. Most of the other West End theatres are within a 10-minute walk, the South Bank venues are 15-30 minutes' walk and if you are going farther afield, Leicester Square and Charing Cross Tube stations are 2 minutes away.
