It’s still surprising to me that Chita’s Anita in West Side Story and Stephanie Mills in The Wiz didn’t even get nominations.
I think Rita’s Oscar win made people go back and realize that oh yes, Chita was great too.
Streisand lost for Funny Girl as did Merman in Gypsy. |
