The Tavistock Hotel, near The British Museum is a fine tourist hotel with great rates and a lovely breakfast (at least pre-pandemic). It is walk-able to all West End Theatres. I would recommend visiting in April.

I stayed at The Tavistock a few years ago and was pleasantly suprised. It was reasonable and faced a nice park. Yes, walking was not that hard from there and a few buses were always going by at a frequent rate in all directions.
