| I saw it a few weeks ago. There are a lot of things I like about the show - music, choreography, cast, set - and the show is premiering here. I had a problem with the last 30 minutes, but that might have changed from when I saw it. As the article eludes to, there is a set change that is amazing. Are we sure Berkeley Rep is using a dynamic pricing model or did they just raise prices for the extensions? |

| What is the choreo like? I'm imagining something very Hadestown-esque. | |

| Last week was high prices. But I watched tickets for days change prices. Last Thursday, the Friday tickets were $133 and then on Friday the same seats were $144. After checking for several dates over and over, I finally got a pair for $85. | |

| John Gallagher, Stark Sands and Adrian Blake Enscoe are astonishing as shipwreck victims, set adrift on the sea, in ''Swept Away'' at Berkeley Rep. They're so compelling and committed to their roles, and sound so wonderful singing the folk-country melodies by the Avett brothers. It's a tale of redemption and desperation, and the story gets intense. It might not be for everybody, but it's hard to imagine a better production. Michael Mayer directed, and the book's by John Logan, who did the sea-themed ''The Last Ship.'' (And there's a magical set change I won't spoil.) Could it be ''Swept Away'' to Broadway? Maybe if this one-act musical could drop anchor at an intimate theater, like Circle in the Square. |
